About the Congress
The 22nd Annual International Congress of the Asia Pacific Hernia Society (APHS 2027) brings together hernia and abdominal wall surgeons, trainees, allied health professionals and industry partners from across the Asia-Pacific region and internationally.
Held over three days from 23 to 25 September 2027 and hosted by the Thai Hernia Society, the congress combines a peer-reviewed scientific programme with structured hands-on training and dedicated sessions for trainees and early-career surgeons.

- Inguinal hernia repair — TEP, TAPP, eTEP, open and robotic approaches
- Ventral and incisional hernia — IPOM, IPOM+, retromuscular and endoscopic techniques
- Complex abdominal wall reconstruction and component separation
- Mesh science, fixation, and device evidence
- Emergency and recurrent hernia management
- Hernia in the bariatric and metabolic surgery patient
- Registry science, outcomes reporting and quality improvement
- Training, credentialing and simulation in the Asia-Pacific

Asia Pacific Hernia Society (APHS)
APHS is the regional society dedicated to advancing the science, teaching and practice of hernia and abdominal wall surgery across the Asia-Pacific. Its annual congress rotates between member countries and serves as the region's principal forum for hernia surgery.
Thai Hernia Society

The Thai Hernia Society promotes education, training and research in hernia and abdominal wall surgery in Thailand, and serves as the local host and organising body for APHS 2027.
