Road to APHS 2027 On Tour
Building towards the 22nd Annual International Congress of the Asia-Pacific Hernia Society, 23–25 September 2027.
Building Momentum. Elevating Standards.
Connecting Asia-Pacific Hernia Surgeons.
We’re Taking Hernia Surgery Across Thailand
Before we gather at APHS 2027, we’re going on a journey.
From the mountains of the North to the shores of the South, Road to APHS 2027 will journey across Thailand — delivering focused teaching, in-depth case discussion and hands-on workshops nationwide.
This is not a single event.
It is a nationwide movement.
Khon Kaen — 26–27 September 2026
Half-day symposium “IPOM: Revisit, Refine, Redefine” on the Saturday, then a full cadaveric workshop — IPOM/IPOM+, TEP and TAPP — on the Sunday. Hosted by the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University.
✈️ Four Cities. Four Regions. One Surgical Standard.
We will move city by city: sharing techniques, refining strategies, and building a stronger Asia-Pacific hernia community together.

☄ Why We’re Traveling
Because excellence should not stay in one city.
Because surgical standards grow through shared experience.
Because APHS 2027 begins long before the congress.
Campaign artwork
Official Road to APHS 2027 roll-up banners, 80 × 180 cm. These are the current approved versions, as screen-resolution PDFs for viewing and sharing. Host centres printing a banner should ask the Secretariat for the full-resolution file.
For the print-ready 80 × 180 cm files, editable artwork, alternative sizes or co-branding with a host centre logo, contact the Congress Secretariat.
What happens at each stop
- Didactic lectures — short, focused talks on the decisions that determine an outcome, not case reports
- Hands-on workshop — cadaveric or simulation work on the techniques taught that day
- In-depth case discussion — real cases from the host region, openly debated
- Expert dialogue — Thai Hernia Society faculty and one international speaker alongside local surgeons
- Technique focus — TEP, TAPP, eTEP, IPOM/IPOM+ and complex abdominal wall repair
- Trainee participation — dedicated time for residents and fellows
Detailed programmes for each city are published as they are finalised — the Khon Kaen programme is now online.
